Cataract Surgery

Question:

I had my eyes examined in a Lasik center in 10/15/2004 and they advice me to go for cataract surgery in right eye, my vision is real bad, I would like to know how much  it will cost for the surgery, I have no insurance.

Answer:

Cataracts are the clouding of your natural human lens inside your eye and these cloud your vision. We are Cataract and Lasik Specialists and you need to know that Lasik will not help cataracts.

Cataracts can be helped . Over 3 million people a year have their cataracts treated and their vision restored.

The treatment is very safe, simple, and very successful.

You need to see a cataract specialist and be examined. This will be a comprehensive exam, including testing for glaucoma, lazy eye, pink eye, double vision, macula problems, retina detachment, etc.

The Florida Eye Center works with many agencies that are available to help with the financial charges of cataract surgery.

Cataract Surgery

Question:

Can your phacoemulsification procedure of using ultrasound be performed a 2nd time to break up an existing IOL and then implant a new IOL ?

Answer:

Phacoemulsification is the safest, new technology to remove cataracts (the clouded lens). It has been done for over 25 years and has become very safe, simple , and successful to allow out-patient, no-stitch cataract treatment.

Almost 3 million surgeries are done in America each year. Almost 99% have a lens implant ( IOL) at the same time.

A lens implant is the new artificial lens put into your eye to focus for you when the clouded one (cataract) is removed. This implant is meant to last forever.

A lens implant is a medical plexiglas or silicone lens and cannot be removed by our new phacoemulsication . However, if the implant ever needs to be removed, it can be removed or even switched / replaced/ exchanged.

Obviously, you need more information, comprehensive exam/ consultation, and questions answered by the ophthalmologist (eye surgeon).

If the Florida Eye Center can help, call us Contact Us or come in for your exam/ consultation to discuss this further. Our Doctors
